Professor Tianyi Wang is Professor of Practice at City University of Hong Kong’s College of Business, Academic Chair of the Investment and Financing Research Center at Tsinghua University, and Council Member of the Integral Institute. He is also a member of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED).
He studied at Tsinghua University, earning a Bachelor’s in Electronics (1985), Master’s in Management (1988), and PhD in Economics (1997). His career spans academia, government, research, and industry: Vice President of Yantai University (1988–2000), Deputy Mayor of Jinan (2000–2008), and President of the Shandong Academy of Sciences (2008–2009). From 2010 to 2022, he served as General Manager, CEO, and Chairman of China Everbright Environment Group, leading it to become the world’s largest waste-to-energy operator and China’s top environmental enterprise.
He was named Green China Person of the Year (2018–2019) and “Best CEO in Asia” for four consecutive years (2018–2021). He has published extensively on carbon neutrality, PPP models, and sustainable development, and remains a leading voice in driving innovation, smart manufacturing, and environmental responsibility.
