Teresa Yang

Teresa Yang is the Vice Chairman of Esquel Group, a knowledge-based innovation company that continuously pushes for positive change in the textile and apparel business, expanding into new territory to evolve with the industry and its customers.  

Teresa is responsible for Esquel Group’s strategic planning. Beyond her work with the group, she serves as Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Textiles (HKGCOT) and as Chairman of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA). She is actively involved in advancing Hong Kong’s textile and clothing industry and serves as a member of the Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA).  

In 2022, Teresa was appointed as a Justice of the Peace (JP). She is passionate about education and is one of the founders of the Y.L. Yang Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children.

In 2024, she was honored as an Honorary Professor in the Department of Design and Architecture at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) and appointed as a Member of the School Advisory Committee of the School of Fashion and Textiles at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Additionally, Teresa serves on the College International Advisory Board in the College of Business at the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), and as Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Board in the MBA programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Previously, she served as a member of Committee on Professional Development of Teachers and Principals (COTAP) under the Education Bureau in Hong Kong from 2013 to 2019.    

Since 2006, Teresa has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Hong Kong Chapter and served as the Chair of YPO Gold Hong Kong Board from 2016 to 2017. She joined the YPO Gold North Asia Regional Board as a learning officer and was honored as the North Asia regional honoree for the 2020 YPO Global Impact Award.  

Teresa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
