Ronna Chao

Since joining Novetex, a 50-year-old family-owned yarn spinner, in 2010, Ronna Chao has spearheaded initiatives that aim to challenge and improve industry standards and practices. The most recent new project is The Billie System, an innovative and patented textile upcycling process that endeavors to lessen environmental impact by recapturing the value of what is deemed “textile waste”.

In addition to her responsibilities at Novetex and The Billie Upcycling, Ronna is CEO of Novel Investment Partners Limited, and Director of Novelpark Investments Limited, where her work spans investment and portfolio management and property redevelopment.

Ronna is also CEO and Chairperson of the Board of Bai Xian Asia Institute (BXAI), which was established in 2014 to oversee the development and implementation of the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP). Today, BXAI supports up to 100 scholars each year to study away from their home country or region at one of its eight partner universities.
