Mr. Salman Khairalla

Salman Khairalla is the co-founder of Humat Dijlah Association and International Coordinator at Save the Tigris Foundation. He is a researcher and environmental advocate specialising in water governance, climate change, and transboundary water issues in the Middle East. He holds a Master's degree in Water Governance from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the Netherlands.

His work focuses on water security, river basin protection, ecosystem conservation, and the impacts of climate change on communities and the environment. He has extensive experience in environmental research, policy analysis, advocacy, and regional cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the Tigris–Euphrates basin.

Salman collaborates with researchers, civil society organisations, and policymakers to promote science-based solutions for sustainable water management and environmental protection. His work aims to strengthen regional dialogue, support evidence-based policymaking, and advance resilient and sustainable approaches to addressing growing environmental and climate challenges.
