Mr. Jason Goodwin

Mr. Jason Goodwin first studied and travelled in China in 1982, inspiring him later to return to the country to explore its tea culture, resulting in The Gunpowder Gardens: Travels in China and India in Search of Tea, his first book. It was published in the USA as A Time for Tea.
As a historian and novelist, focusing on Istanbul and Ottoman history, his works have been translated into more than 40 languages. The Janissary Tree won the Edgar Award for Best Novel and he is the author of Lords of the Horizons: A History of the Ottoman Empire, among other award-winning nonfiction.
Jason lives in rural England, with a private water supply, and writes a monthly column for Country Life magazine.
